EU Deforestation Regulation
EUDR makes deforestation-free supply chains a market-access requirement for covered commodities. The automotive exposure is concentrated in natural rubber, tyres, certain rubber articles, leather and wood packaging or components.
The regulation does not work like a certificate scheme. Operators need a due-diligence statement, reference numbers and retained evidence; certification can support the case but does not replace the legal duty.
The classification details matter. Natural rubber, tyres and some rubber articles can be in scope, while synthetic rubber and some hose categories may be outside. A customer order into the EU can change the compliance position overnight.
